Heavy Rigging Project Manager
Reporting Responsibilities:
• Reports to Vice President
• Interacts with and supports Superintendents and Foreman
• Interacts with dispatcher
• Works with owners, engineers, and sub-contractors
Qualifications:
• Ten years experience in heavy rigging of transformers, presses, injection mold machines and various other heavy equipment.
• Experience with mobile cranes, hydraulic gantries, lift trucks and sliding systems.
• Heavy haul experience with Goldhofer hydraulic modular trailers.
• Setting, leveling and aligning of plant machinery lines.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial construction costs, scheduling, estimating, and construction techniques.
• Knowledge of various industrial construction means, methods and materials.
• Management skills, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Construction or Engineering degree preferred but not required.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, scheduling programs)
Responsibilities:
• Enforce the safety program.
• Estimate and bid projects.
• Monitor project cost which includes labor, material, equipment, and sub contractors.
• Direct Superintendents and other personnel assigned to a project.
• Complete management of a project as understood within the industry and contracts.
• Attend design meetings, bid meetings, and project meetings.
• Develop budgets as needed.
• Maintain complete knowledge of contract documents, drawings, specifications and estimates.
• Schedule, expedite, examine and coordinate approval of all shop drawings as required.
• Insure that materials and equipment are released on a timely basis and assist in expediting as needed.
• Manage flow of information on changes in the work and issue contract changes.
• Maintain good relations and communications with all involved in projects.
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on a project.
• Determines appropriate cost accounting codes, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for a project.
• Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization.
• Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
• Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
• Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
• Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Builds a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives.
